![]() ![]() ![]() Paul Thomas Anderson came to me because he wanted to make sure his vision for Boogie Nights was delivered and that he got the songs he wanted. And I had to be like, “By the way, I don’t have any money.” One of them was religious and didn’t like the idea of using their song to a scene where somebody’s ear gets cut off. I didn’t even have the job and I was on the phone begging and pleading Stealers Wheel members Joe Egan and Gerry Rafferty to let us use it. He knew every song he wanted but he was told he couldn’t have them, like Stealers Wheel’s “Stuck in the Middle With You” for Reservoir Dogs. In the case of Quentin Tarantino, I got to put in my two cents on Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. Like, tell me what you’re looking for, I’m going to get it for you. It’s a creative business, but it’s business. Is being a music supervisor way more business-focused than people assume? I figure I’ll hear all the pop stuff anyway, but I’m not really into pop, and I don’t think people are hiring me on projects because I’m going to bring them a pop song. When people just send me general submissions, I usually listen to the more obscure stuff. Now, I’m really appreciating the daily mixes on Spotify, even though I always prided myself on being that person who digs through crates. If I liked the artwork, if somebody told me about the band, if it was from a different country, I would always pick up whatever cassette was on the shelf. These are the people who find songs and secure their usage in films, which means they likely played a huge role in shaping your music taste today. Among them, music supervisors are an essential and undersung part of process. Though directors are often given sole credit for a movie’s soundtrack, many people help bring music to the big screen. They deserve better which is why we chose to pay more. or mistreatment? Breaks my heart for them. Why should we pay triple the price then what the other facility charged for the same treatment. This is exactly why we wanted to see them on the cameras. I ended up leaving a message to Myia on the way home since I just could not believe, for the amount of money we paid to board them here, our one dog was returned to me in almost the same condition as the other facility. Her white fur was also stained a lovely shade of light yellow on her paws, back of her legs, chest, hind quarters, and tail. She came out reeking of doggy cologne and urine. Then about 10 min later they bring out our other dog after Myia said that they were washing some mud off her paws from playing. It’s never taken that long to get our dog. Not going to lie, I was a little suspicious. A little over 20min later they bring out our older dog. I closed out the bill and waited for them to bring out our dogs. I even verbalized my concern to the scheduling supervisor, Miya, while I was there to pick up our dogs and told her about my previous experience at the other facility. Ok, accidents happen- not a big deal, but we still would have liked to have seen our dogs while we were away. So due to the holiday (limited hours) and my number being entered incorrectly into the system, I never received a call back/update. Initially things started out ok, but we were unable to see our dogs on the web cams (they had one on one play times scheduled) so I called to see what times they were going to be out and get an update. Due to that horrible experience, we returned to Safari pet resort to board our dogs this time. ![]() ![]() In terms of the quality of Medicare telehealth services, CMS identified concerns, including risks of harm to patients and provision of services that were not medically necessary (for example genetic testing). We found that CMS does not collect, assess, or report information about the quality of telehealth care given by Medicaid providers, and recommended they do so. We looked at how the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) monitors the quality of care provided to ensure that people enrolled in these programs receive the care they need. For those suffering from injury or disability, it might also be difficult to provide effective physical therapy via a video. It may also be more difficult to test a child’s reflexes or detect other symptoms during these important check-ups. Specifically, some officials we interviewed said it may be more difficult to hold a child’s attention during a telehealth visit. For example, we heard concerns about using telehealth to conduct child wellness visits. We also heard that telehealth just might not be a good fit for every patient. For example, doctors may not be able to diagnose problems, look at injuries, or conduct physical exams via phone. Visiting your doctor via video conference or phone can be useful when in-person care is not available. How quality of care could be impacted by telehealth We think HHS could do a better job notifying patients of these potential issues. Patients may not be aware of privacy and security concerns telehealth technology may pose. And, not everyone has the same level of tech savviness.Īlso, some health care providers, particularly those in smaller practices, may lack the technology needed to conduct a private and secure video visit. From our prior reporting, we know that millions of Americans still lack access to high-speed internet (broadband). For example, the technology used for video health appointments might not be accessible to everyone. Increased telehealth use also raises questions about access. Learn more about this increase by listening to our podcast with GAO’s Medicaid expert, Carolyn Yocom. We found that the number of telehealth services in those states increased dramatically-15x the pre-pandemic level (from 2.1 million the year prior to 32.5 million in the 12 months from March 2020 to February 2021). Despite these differences in pre-COVID access, we found dramatic increases in telehealth use under both programs.įor example, in March, we reported on changes in telehealth use among Medicaid beneficiaries living in five select states. But during COVID-19, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees Medicare, waived some of its restrictions. By law, Medicare only paid for telehealth services under limited circumstances-for example, when access to in-person care is limited by location. The patient is not charged separately for the visit at the ZipTicket location since they are charged for the virtual visit online.Even before the pandemic, Medicaid beneficiaries had the flexibility to use telehealth services in most states. The medical assistant or nurse completes the testing and enters the results through the Mission Virtual Clinic portal so that the patient may receive the final diagnosis and prescription (if applicable) online. He described Tuesday’s vote as “a resounding (message) from the commissioners who want their voice heard.” He said he acknowledges the park’s economic importance to Blount County, and suggested the resolution moved out of committee could see amendments based on Mitchell’s outreach efforts, but was wary of implementing new fees. “No one has really given us a good idea as to how they will police it,” said Blount County Commissioner and Townsend representative Jeff Jopling following the committee vote. Most Blount County commissioners, while acknowledging the chronic funding shortfall, want to see the Interior Department carry the load by redirecting more tax dollars to the park, though Blount County Mayor Ed Mitchell said during an agenda committee meeting that he preferred a softer approach than an outright rejection of the proposal, which will come before the full commission April 21. “All revenue generated through these user fees would remain in the Smokies to directly support operational costs for managing and improving services for visitors including trail maintenance, custodial services, trash removal, and supporting more law enforcement staffing across the park,” according to a news release from the park. Vehicles left at trailheads would also require a $5 daily fee or a reduced daily price for longer parking.
